Retail Technology Administrator

  • Developed a program for systems management for a newly installed telecommunications system, which resulted in over $125K per year reduction in telecommunications costs.
  • Designed and installed a streamlined data network, consolidating various types of traffic from multiple locations; this allowed faster response to trouble calls and reduced operating costs by over $150K per year.
Manager of Information Systems - Illinois Division 1985-1987
  • Established an Information Systems department at the operating division level which provided programming assistance, oversaw computer operations, and offered recommendations in purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinated the installation of a DEC computer within the division to serve in a distributed computing environment.
Drilling and Shooting / Maintenance Supervisor - Indiana Division 1984-1985
  • Supervised a union work force responsible for the proper fragmentation of overburden above the coal seam. This required constant attention to the safe use of explosives, as well as an intense maintenance background to maximize uptime.

  • Coordinated mine planning and evaluation, prepared capital and operating budgets, developed cost and production control standards, and reported and analyzed operations performance.
  • Developed the specifications and complex relationships necessary to computerize monthly performance reporting, improving decision making by providing data more quickly and supplying exception reporting.
